The Western Association of Food and Drug Officials (WAFDO) is a non-profit association organized for the purpose of improving communication and cooperation with the respective local, state, and federal programs, and for promoting the development and enforcement of uniform food, drug, and consumer protection laws.
Through the active participation of its members, as an affiliate of AFDO, WAFDO works AFDO with to draft resolutions, policies, and model legislation affecting the public and industry. AFDO, in turn, supports the objectives and the work of WAFDO on a national level, giving WAFDO members an effective voice nationwide.
WAFDO's primary objectives are:
WAFDO's region encompasses Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, British Columbia, Alberta, Guam, North Mariana Islands, and Mexico. WAFDO's membership includes food, drug, and device professionals from state, local, territorial, tribal, and federal regulatory agencies, as well as those in academia and industry.
